Opportunities to share learning |
Leaders for the future
Cadence worked with a medium sized government agency to develop a comprehensive leadership development programme that has run over several years. The programme is designed to align leadership, build management skills and develop a group of managers with potential for advancement.
The 12 month programme includes a selection process, pre-course assessment and feedback, core and optional training modules run monthly, practical project work, presentations to senior management, coaching and on-the-job learning.
Cadence personnel, specialist staff and senior management are involved in delivery, support and coaching.

New directions
A national service organisation that had experienced significant change asked Cadence to assist them to align behaviours and processes for the future.
Cadence developed a leadership programme that ran over a period of six months. The initial three day workshop was based on a comprehensive case study that mirrored the business environment. The case assisted participants to assess their leadership competencies.
The programme also used learning teams, an intranet site, projects and a follow up workshop to address ongoing issues and long term development plans.
|
Development workshops

Cadence works with organisations to develop workshops on leadership and management concepts.
Typical programmes inlcude:

 |
1-3 day courses (skill building or refresher) |
 |
Modular courses (skill building over time) |
 |
Self directed learning with support |
Handling Growth
Cadence worked with a large service organisation in growth to upskill team leaders. The organisation needed to develop current staff for the changed environment and tools to develop new team leaders using internal resources.
Cadence developed a combination of self directed learning modules and workshops to build skills over a period of time.
Participants set learning objectives with their managers and schedule coaching time. The workshops reinforce the on-the-job learning and allow skills practice in a safe environment. Coaching materials are available to assist managers.
|
Matrix confusion
A modular programme running over three months met the development needs of a group of managers working in a matrix structure in a large government department.
The workshops addressed issues of managing staff and leading their development in this environment. They also included skills to work with other managers and ways to be more influential. Modular delivery allowed for skills practice and addressing 'real' problems.
|
Remind me
A one day management programme was delivered to a group of team leaders working in a professional environment. For some of the group the concepts were new and for others the workshop was a refresher.
The content included how to motivate and manage a small group of other professionals (some with more technical skills than team leader); how to set performance expectations and how to lead the development of others.
